Arrive Cochin Airport OR Thrissur Rly Stn. Transfer to Guruvayur, 2 hrs drive. The Athirapally Falls join the Chalakkudy River after plummeting a drop of 80 feet. & Vazhachal- is a picturesque spot just a short drive from Athirapally and is adjacent to dense green forestland. Day Two
Early Morning Dharshan Sree Krishna Temple - This is a temple rich in legend, tradition and festivals. After breakfast, visit the Elephant Sanctuary- It is the largest elephant park in the world and you can see about 60 elephants at the same time. Check out and drive to Palakkad- Pala is a kind of tree and Kadu means forest in Malayalam. Palakkad derives it name from a forest of Pala trees. It is shrouded by Nilgiri and Anamalai Hills. Popular as the 'Granary of Kerala', the district of Palakkad on the foothills of Western Ghats, is one of the sought-after tourist sites in Kerala. 2 hrs drive. Aftenoon Visit Palakkad Fort - built in granite by King Hyder Ali of Mysore in 1766 in Palakkad town, is a fantastic piece of art and then proceed to visit the Malampuzha Dam & Garden. Day Three
Proceed for a Full day picnic to the Nelliyampathy Hills- hills comprise a chain of ridges cut off from one another by valleys of dense evergreen forests and orange plantations The height of the hills range from 467 meters to the tallest peak Padagiri looming at 1572 meters. The magic of the journey to Nelliyampathy hills begins at Pothundy Dam. From here, after 20 km drive through forests tracks, negotiating breathtaking hair-pin turns, you arrive at top. From here one can have a fantastic view of the valley below, with a wide angled panoramic picture of about one third of Palakkad also the Palakkad Gap. Back to Hotel.
Day Five
After Breakfast Checkout and drive to Wayanad, 3 hrs drive - The etymology of the word Wayanad is Vayal (paddy) Naad (land); 'Land of Paddy Fields'. There are many indigeneous tribals in this area. It is set lofty on the majestic Western Ghats with altitudes ranging from 700 to 2100 Metres above mean sea level. Check in to the Hotel/Resort. Visit the Pookote Lake for Boating - The Natural Fresh Water Lake that is hemmed with ever green mountains is called by the name Pookot Lake, and the View Point & Chain Tree- Lakkidi, where the Chain tree stands, is the gateway to Wynad district. Day Six
A Full Day Guided Visit of Wayanad.Heritage Museum - The Ambalavayal Heritage Museum, has one of Kerala's largest collections of the remnants of an era dating back to the 2nd century A.D., Edakkal Caves - The name “Edakkal” literally means “a stone in between”, and this describes how the cave is formed by a heavy boulder straddling a fissure in the rock. , Wildlife Etc. Back to Hotel/Resort.
Day Seven
Checkout and drive to Kannur, 3 hrs drive- Sandwiched between the Western Ghats and the Lakshadweep Sea is one of the most important coastal towns of Kerala – Kannur. Check in to the Hotel. Afternoon Visit Thalasseri Fort - The East India Company constructed Thalasseri fort in Kannur in the year 1708. This magnificent fort is located at a distance of around 22 kilometers from Kannur. It was the military center of the British troops , now a historical monument. Then to Muzhapilangad Beach, Also a visit to the Parassinikkadavu Temple, stands on the banks of a river, this pilgrim centre is famous for the Theyyam, the divine dance. Back to the Hotel.
Day Eight
Set off for a full day picnic to Bakel Fort & Beach. The 300 year old Fort is one of the largest and best preserved forts in Kerala. Back to the Hotel.
Day Nine
Checkout after breakfast and transfer to Calicut Airport / Kannur Railway Station for return travel back to Hometown.
